Outro 'add your own solo' on Will Brahm's song 'Mayweather Beginning'. Definitely a challenge to follow Will's solo but super fun to do!

Jazz Blues Voicings ala Ted Greene. I take a small part of a larger Ted exercise and demonstrate how you can apply it to something you probably already know. Ken, beautiful playing and instrument! Do you mind sharing what the nut width on that Tele is? It appears a little bit wider than Fender.
The nut width on that (Bill Crook) Tele is 1 and 11/16s. Sometimes referred to as ‘vintage medium’. The radius is 12” - which makes it look a little wider than it really is on camera. Thanks for viewing!
Very cool can u use 8ohm Cab ?
Yes, the cab I'm using is 8ohms.
Good choice. I presume you're looking for a bassist & planning a date at Dante's.
Sadly, Donte’s is long gone.
Love it!
That was awesome 😎
Sounds fantastic dude i been playing 40 yrs and yer playing an the amp is superb jam on
Thank you! And thanks for viewing.
Dont apologize for the sweat breau! Thanks very much for such a nice intro to Ted G and 'implementing' it to soul music, which sounds stupid because music without soul is uh.... a painful exercise?
Muito bonito, mas não parece Ted Greene.
Sounds great, Ken! David makes some damn fine pickups! What is that CC looking pup in the neck?
That is a (Pete Biltoft) Vintage Vibes CC pkup. Really great for the 'Jazz on a Tele' thing.
@@KenLasaine Nice. Pete makes killer pickups!
my brain hurts when i watch you😂
😅

Nice! Sounds great, Ken, I’d be keeping it too. Especially at under $100, right?
Hey Jason! Definitely a keeper. I think I need to replace the input jack though.
Nice!
You're Awesome!!❤

I just subscribed to you , can you teach this please, Thank You
Thanks for viewing and commenting. I’m very busy currently but I will try to find time to do a lesson for this one. Sometime next month most likely.
Thanks I had previously figured out the min 11 vamp, but was missing the first lick before it- thanks a lot 👌
Cool. Thanks for viewing!
Very cool! Glad I found this. It makes Carlton's soloing abilities even more impressive...as if that were possible!
Thanks for viewing. I'm glad you appreciate it! And I totally agree with you. He plays a very 'rock' guitar solo over jazz chord changes.
Beautiful.
🙏
Very nice love that progression of chords
Thank you for listening!
Johanna wants to know if you utilize all four fingers and thumb with your right hand technique?
Yes I do. Hi Jo!
You need more free mornings! Love this. Ken.
Holy shit, YES!!!
Thanks Billy!
Magical--and what a sound you get on that guitar!!
Thanks for checking it out Billy!
My great pleasure, Ken!@@KenLasaine
Douchebagery at its best
Thanks for putting out these little Ted tidbits, he had the most beautiful ear for chords.
Glad you like them!

Thank you for viewing! I'm glad you liked it.
Your videos have been so good for me and anyone trying to get the Ted sounds
Cool! I'm glad they help. That is my mission in doing these. Thanks for viewing!
Thanks!
You are very welcome. Thank you for viewing!
That was awesome… tied it together perfectly. Thank you!
You're very welcome. Thanks for viewing!
Ken, I learned the first part of this from your video - and then realised that it makes a nice circle of 5ths exercise. Great for playing these beautiful voicings all over the fretboard.
Yes, absolutely! Ted loved it when you were able to see a pattern and make a new exercise.
First time here(hear?) thanks What are those pickup covers or are they integrated into what pickups?
Thanks for viewing Scott! Those are Gold Foil pickups in a MIM Fender Telecaster.
Very cool, Ken. Will try to give it a go.
Hope you enjoy!
Thanks Ken!
No, I did not tune my axe before hitting record😜.
Thank you Ken! And YES, I am also YOUR fan. I had the good fortune to study with Ted back when he was in the valley. Even though I was an established studio musician then, I learned SO MUCH from him. It's wonderful that you and others are keeping his legacy alive.
Thank you for viewing! All the heavies in town took at least a few lessons from Ted. You'd get a lifetime of study out of just one Ted lesson.
Great presentation and observations Ken ! Thank you for sharing your insights here. Wishing you the best - John
Thanks John! Man, you're fast. I just finished watching it myself. "Rough and Ready" is an understatement with this one, lol!
@@KenLasaine I get notifications ! I recall Ted speaking about this kind of jump back concept coming from listening to Ray Charles. Ted sure loved Ray ! Great stuff Ken !
All these great fingerings played in my favorite key! 😊 Thanks.
My pleasure! Glad you like it and thanks for viewing.
PHENOMENALLY DONE...
Do you remember the chords to come get sum amazing song man it’s really groovy I love it
Are you talking about a track from the video game soundtrack, 'Rising Storm 2', from several years back?
@@KenLasaine yes I saw your comment saying u did the guitar great work you did, really would love to learn it
@@tomasivy5929 I can probably figure out the chords for you. As for the psychedelic guitar playing - that was all off the cuff and a moment in time.
The chords are easy ... It's in 3 sections that are repeated several times. Em (8 bars) - D7 (2 bars) - C7 (2 bars) - Em (4 bars). Then it does the same thing in F#m, then in Gm, and then it starts over again back in Em. Rinse, repeat three or four times through.
@@KenLasaine thank you I appreciate it also that soloing is amazing for a game soundtrack any tips for soloing in that psychedelic hard rock feel?
Nicely done Ken 😎
Thank you sir!👍
